Vidiotion is a small senior editing team led by MH Sam, based in Dhaka and working with YouTube channels and brands in Bangladesh, the US, the UK, the UAE and Australia. We cut long-form documentaries, paid ad creatives and short-form verticals — and clients speak to the person editing their video rather than to an account manager.

Why Dhaka has this much editing capacity

The talent pool here is genuinely deep, and it helps to know why. Government and industry figures commonly cite around 650,000 freelancers nationally, with Dhaka accounting for a large share. On the industry side, the outsourcing association BACCO told local press in 2025 that first-half outsourcing earnings had already passed the previous full year — roughly $900 million against about $850 million for all of 2024.

Worth stating honestly, since a lot of local marketing copy does not: the sector has missed some of its own headline targets. Wider ICT export goals were set in the billions, and export figures reported in late 2025 came in far below them. The talent is real. The projections were optimistic. Both things are true.

For a client, the practical consequence of a deep talent pool is a very wide price range — the same brief can be quoted at a few thousand taka or several hundred dollars. Price alone tells you almost nothing. We have written a full breakdown of the local tiers in this guide.

Most of our work is for clients outside Bangladesh, and two things make that work in practice:

• Timezone as an advantage. Dhaka is GMT+6. Footage sent at the end of a US working day is edited overnight and waiting when you start. That only helps if the studio genuinely works asynchronously — we do, and we take calls in your hours rather than ours.
• Cost without the usual trade-off. Published 2026 comparisons show the scale of the gap between offshore and Western studio rates — one widely cited example put a short-form video at roughly $30 offshore against about $300 for the same brief in Los Angeles. We sit above the local entry tier and well below US and Western European studio pricing.

One caveat we would rather say than hide: that gap is narrowing. Editors here who market to a global audience increasingly price to it. A quote far below the local mid tier in 2026 is a reason to ask more questions, not fewer.

What to check before hiring any studio in Dhaka

These questions separate studios that deliver from studios that present well, and they apply to us as much as to anyone else:

• Ask for a finished video in your format, not a showreel — showreels are cut to hide weak middles
• Ask who is actually editing, and whether the work is subcontracted
• Ask whether music and stock are licensed, in writing — the takedown risk sits with your channel, not the editor's
• Ask for a delivery date rather than a duration
• Ask what counts as one revision round
• Ask who holds the project files after delivery
• If paying from abroad, agree currency and who absorbs transfer fees up front
